At the present time, marketing industry is a very powerful and mighty structure. We fall for this trick, buy a product, and very often become victims of different scams and rip-offs. That is why sometimes it is very useful to finally find out meanings of some terms, especially when it comes to such popular and advertised products as Acai berry supplements.
When you hear or watch some Acai berry ad, then you for sure come across the word “antioxidant”. Antioxidants are very important, antioxidants are making miracles, and antioxidants are this and that. But what is actually an antioxidant? It is a molecule that helps to fight with oxidation (a process that releases free radicals ruining the cells of our body). If this process is not stopped, then a person starts to suffer from a number of diseases. So, antioxidants are indeed very important. Nevertheless, there are some well-known claims about Acai berry and antioxidants that should be debunked.
First of all, if a food such as Acai berry is high in such elements as antioxidants it does not necessarily mean that it will be automatically conveyed into numerous and advantageous health benefits. It is a well-known scientific fact, that not all of the useful elements are being absorbed from the food, sometimes not even a half. When it comes to nutritional supplements, in which form most Acai berry products are distributed, the doze of absorbed beneficial elements can be divided by many times. It is impossible just to package the advantages of the food in a supplement.
Then, the other wide-spread fallacy that should be publicly disproved is that Acai berry is probably the food with the highest amount of antioxidants ever. Somehow, a number of advertising campaigns have created an image that Acai berries contain more antioxidants that any other food, but if fact it is not so. There are many fruits that contain more of these useful molecules and they are Concord grapes, black cherries and blueberries. By consuming fresh above-mentioned or processed above-mentioned fruits, a person can get a way bigger doze of antioxidants that can be provided by Acai berry products.
Finally, antioxidant activity of Acai berry is not strong enough to fight with a number of health disorders as it is claimed in countless ads. Such things as the improvements of sexual health, the reverse process of such deceases as diabetes and cancer, the recovery from some chronic illnesses is something that will hardly ever happen after consuming Acai berry supplements.
So few antioxidant activities of Acai berries have been studied and so many fallacies have been spread out that we should undoubtedly start differentiating between truth and falsehood. Acai berries are healthy food for real, but its qualities are being too overstated.
